Description

Bluebill drake, John Holly, Havre de Grace, Maryland, 3rd quarter 19th century.

A very early upper bay decoy.  Branded 'R.H.H.' in the underside.  Tack eyes aded a very long time ago.  Another brand in underside that is mostly filled with paint.

CONDITION:  Very dry old in use repaint with moderate to significant flaking and wear; split vertically in front of neck with a chip missing at front of neck; roughness on edge of bill and tail; shallow chip in top of head.
