Description

Hollow carved eider drake from Country Harbour, Nova Scotia, 1st to 2nd quarter 20th century.

Rare hollow example with inlet bottom board.  Relief bill carving.  Pictured on page 98 in ‘Decoys of Maritime Canada’ by Gary and Dale Guyette.  Measures 18” long and 9 ½” wide.

CONDITION:  Old in userepaint with minor wear; hairline cracks in neck; drying split in back; repair to the tip of bill with touch up in that area.

Provenance:  Peter Brown collection to the benefit of DU Canada.
