Description

Mallard hen, Stephen Lane, Lacon, Illinois, last quarter 19th century.

Hollow carved.  

CONDITION:  Original paint with minor flaking and wear, mostly on the back; most of bill is a professional replacement with repaint on the whole bill.

Provenance:  Dr. Dyrc Sibrans collection, Decatur, Alabama.  See page 18-19 in the July-August, 1981 issue of 'Decoy Hunter' magzine for a story on Dr. Sibrans.
