Pair of hooded mergansers, Hurley Conklin, Manahawkin, New Jersey.
Hollow carved with slightly turned heads and inlet lead weights. Both branded ‘C. Conklin’ in underside. Relief carved wing tips and raised, split crest feathers. Measure 13 3/4” and 14” long.
CONDITION: Original paint with a few minor paint rubs; minor sap bleed on hen’s breast.
Provenance: The Deevy collection of Hurley Conklin decoys that we will be selling over the coming weeks.
