Description

Early style black duck, John Baker, Edgley, Pennsylvania.

Hollow carved with raised 'v' wing tip carving and incised tail feathers.  Slightly turned head and original weight on underside.  Loop feather paint detail.  Measures 15 1/4" long.

CONDITION:  Original paint with very minor wear; lightly hit by shot; some paint rubs and line tie marks from when the paint was still wet; tight crack in one eye.

Provenance:  Formerly in the collection of Russell Aiken.  Lot 151 Guyette & Deeter, July 2014.
