Description

Pair of mergansers, Hurley Conklin, Manahawkin, New Jersey.

Hollow carved with hen in sleeping pose and drake with slightly turned head.  Both with relief carved wing tips, inlet weights, and carved crest feathers.  Both branded 'H. Conklin' in the underside.  Measure 15" and 18" long.

CONDITION:  Original paint with minor discoloration and moderate to significant sap bleed and crazing; very good structurally.

Provenance:  Deevy collection of Hurley Conklin decoys.
