Description

Sleeping black duck, William Bowman, Lawrence, Long Island.

Believed by some to have been carved by Charles Sumner Bunn.  Hollow carved with inlet neck seat and glass eyes.  Branded ‘Ives’ on the underside.  Measures 15” long.

CONDITION:  Old in use repaint worn to much bare wood; hairline crack in back; head was likely turned at some point with a nail added on bill.
