Description

Low head blackduck, Dan English, Florence, New Jersey, 1st quarter 20th century.

Hollow carved with tucked head.  Relief carved 'V' wing tips and incised tail feather carving.  Slight relief feather carving on back.  Pictured on page 209 of "New Jersey Decoys" by Henry Fleckenstein Jr.  Measures 14 1/2" long.

CONDITION:  Paint appears original with minor gunning wear; many small dents; tiny chip in tail and one side of bill tip; one eye appears replaced.
