Description

Pair of early wigeon, William Cranmer, Beach Haven, New Jersey.

Hollow carved with slightly turned heads and upswept tails.  Signed by Chris Sprague on the underside and dated 1958.  Cranmer and Sprague were friends and it is uncertain if these were a collaboration, a gift, or if someone simply put Sprague’s name on the underside.  Measure 13 1/4" and 14 1/4" long.

CONDITION:  Original paint with minor wear; small dent in one side of drake's head; paint on underside dripped onto sides and was mostly removed; very good structurally.

Provenance:  Dick and Lynn Gove collection.

($500 - $800)
