Description

Hollow carved redhead, William Bowman, Lawrence, Long Island, circa 1900.

Believed by some to have been made by Charles Sumner Bunn, Shinnecock Nation, Long Island.  Circa 1900 with inlet head and glass eyes.  Nice form.

CONDITION:  Early in use repaint with moderate wear; lightly hit by shot with one making a small chip in top of bill; tight crack in back and breast; crack through neck with some separation.

Provenance:  Estate of an early Maine collector.
