Description

Bluebill hen, Stephen Verity, Islip, Long Island, New York.

Carved eyes and branded ‘T.J. Havermeyer’ for Theodore Havermeyer.  Also branded ‘CLB’ in the underside.  Stephen Verity was at one time superintendent of the estate of Henry Osbourne Havermeyer who was Theodore’s brother.  Niece of Theodore and daughter of Henry, Electra Havermeyer Webb, was the founder of the Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vermont.  Measures 14 3/8” long

CONDITION:  Significantly warn paint appears original; small chip in tip of tail; neck crack repair; crack in underside.
