Description

Brant, Chauncey Wheeler, Alexandria Bay, New York, 2nd quarter 20th century.

With incised torn heart pattern on back.  Branded ‘W.F.B’ in the underside for the rig of William Francis Beal from Long Island who ordered the rig from Wheeler in 1919.  Measures 18 1/2” long.

CONDITION:  Paint appears original with moderate flaking and wear; drying cracks in body and tail including one through the neck seat which has caused the head to be removable; varnish or some other sealant has dripped on on back and run down the sides; minor roughness on one edge of bill.
