Pair of bluebills, Billy Ellis, Whitby, Ontario, 2nd quarter 20th century.
Hen with inlet, tucked head. Comb feather paint detail on drake. ‘JCM’ branded in the underside for the rig of John C. Marcellus, a cofounder of Ducks Unlimited and the owner of the Fox Island Club in Ontario on the St. Lawrence River. ‘Made in Canada’ paper labels on the undersides. Measure 14 1/2” and 15 1/4” long.
CONDITION: Excellent and original.
