Two diminutive mergansers from Cape May, New Jersey.
Small merganser decoys, one measuring 11 ½” and one measuring 9 ½”.
Ex Bruce Williams Collection.
CONDITION: Smaller one is weathered to bare wood and retains lead paint; approximately the top ⅓ of the head including the bill was replaced; larger one has thick coat of shellac on the head and thin coat on body; chewing to the tail; splits through the neck secured by nails and glue.
