Description

Pair of canvasbacks, Henry Lockard, Elk Neck, Maryland, circa 1900.

Reared back heads with raised neck seats and long nostril carving.  Repainted by Severin Hall circa 1930.  Measure 14" long.

CONDITION:  In use repaint by Severin Hall with moderate wear; tight cracks in back; repaired cracks in each neck; large patch in drake's breast with touch up, possibly where a large knot fell out.

Provenance:  The Waterfowl Festival’s 50th Anniversary Collection.  Donated to them in 2012 by the Honorable Nicholas F. Brady, former United States Secretary of the Treasury.
